Opening ceremony and welcome reception
All delegates are invited to kick off their ECTH2019 experience at the vibrant Opening Ceremony in the plenary hall, Lomond. You will be welcomed by Jim Crawley (Host ECTH2019 and President BSHT) and Frits Rosendaal (President of the ECTH board). After the Opening Ceremony, meet with your peers and network with fellow congress delegates at the welcome reception.
The congress dinner of ECTH2019 offers a great opportunity to meet and network with other experts in an informal setting, while tasting some local Scottish specialties. The walking dinner will take place on Thursday evening, in a unique and iconic space: Glasgow Science Centre. This beautiful building is located on the Clyde waterfront, a vibrant place where historic Glasgow meets the modern city.
During the poster sessions there is time to discuss with a drink and a snack. Those posters based on the abstracts that were valued highest will be introduced briefly by the authors during the poster reception on Thursday October 3, in the Poster Area: 17:00h – 18:30h.
The controversial corner takes place on Thursday October 3, in the Poster Area: 17:30h – 18:30h. During this engaging event, 8 speakers have 5 minutes each to make a controversial statement on topics related to Thrombosis and Haemostasis. We hope to see you there to debate and discuss your ideas on the topic.
Sport activity: curling

ECTH2019 invites you to play a fun session of curling during the third congress day. One of the world’s oldest team sports, curling originated in the 16th century in Scotland, where games were played during winter on frozen ponds and lochs. The earliest-known curling stones came from the Scottish regions of Stirling and Perth and date from 1511.
